Blog 9I

#20

When Sonya Sotomayor came to Southern I was thrilled to know that she was coming to my school to speak and answer questions myself and my fellow peers had for her. There was many more questions that could have been asked but there was not a lot of time. Even though I did not go to the Lecture, the stories that I have heard from my friends and others students speak about was thrilling. It made me feel as if I was there. The fact that she had battled and concord all her mistakes and setbacks made me see that I can do that myself. When she had talked about failure as if it wasn’t a bad thing but it is a lesson learn situation it felt as if she was connecting with us. She has been in our shoes before and she can relate and give us advice on what we should and shouldn’t do.

When she said, “to make sure that we are well rounded students, and not to be afraid to take other classes that aren’t in our major’s curriculum, just to see what life is.” It made me and other think about what we really wanted to do in life, since registration time for classes is coming up.
