"There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so" – Shakespeare

After sitting down for a while trying to figure out what the meaning of this quote is and how it relates to this week’s Inquiry class it did take a few minutes then it clicked. To me this quote is about how someone takes something for good or bad it all depends on how the person interprets it. From this week’s class discussion about intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. I believe this quote can be either intrinsic motivation or extrinsic. It can be intrinsic because your view on something is what you feel good or bad it’s all up to yourself, but it can also be extrinsic because someone can tell you about something good or bad and it’s all how you take that as well. This  week’s discussion on fixed mind set and growth mindset it also relates to these because everything is how one makes it for them self’s. If you think of it like this there is no good or bad in the world until we think it.

“The Brains determination of what is meaningful and what is not is reflected not only in the initial perceptual processes but also in the conscious processing of information.”

This meaning of this quote is what you think is what matters not what others can think for you. The world should be a growth mindset world but some people try to make it a fixed mindset and not get out in the world and try new and different things in life.
